You see, at different times “gudaci”, and in
other regions of Ukraine “triple musicians”
were the obligatory adornment to various celebrations and, as it is said, they “played
everything”, paying attention to the demands of the particular time. Later (the epoch of
the USSR), such groups of musicians were taken to the professional stage, limiting
their repertoire to the “regulations” and censorship.
Now, at new times of market relations, when people seem to think only about their own
survival, the need in such groups arises from time to time. With the development of
technique musicians “have armed” themselves with sound equipment to satisfy the
needs of wide audience, and youth in particular. Ensembles that use only acoustic
instruments and work without sound intensity are now a great rarity. Some hidden
energy that had effect on people was inside those musicians. Sometimes on wedding
parties could happen such cases that “in the game” stayed only drummer, but it did not
stop them to dance “kolomyjka”  that could last more than an hour. From ancient times
while dancing people encouraged themselves either by collective or single singing (often by “uncensored” but without vulgarisms
‘kolomyjkas”, that are called by people “shameful”). Magical effect arises while listening to the individual performers on ancient ethnic
instruments ( tylynka, trembita, drymba, etc.).  And exactly such direction in musical activity has chosen “Gudacka Taystra” (direct
meaning – musician’s bag).
